The ZU Project: Spring Summer 2009/2010
‘A creative perspective’

One of Australia’s leading fashion retailers, ZU Shoes has long been an industry leader in competitive high-end footwear and accessories for both men and women. This year marks the tenth anniversary of ZU’s rise to being one of the country’s largest retailers and to celebrate, the company have devised a creative initiative second to none.

Enlisting a host of Australian creative talents, The ZU Project: Spring Summer 2009/2010 is a collaborative between photographers and stylists to capture the essence of the brands directional collection. To be used in a national advertising campaign the five partnerships have interpreted the season in very true form. “I think the concept allows for such a range of interpretation which matches our diverse consumer base”, says Erin Willis, Marketing Manager, ZU Shoes.

The creative pairings included Australian fashion photographer Bec Parsons and former YEN fashion director and stylist Imogene Bar ron, photographer Jordan Graham of Company One and stylist Lucinda Rose-Constable, famed international fashion photographer Georges Antoni and former YEM Magazine editor Jacqui Thompson and model turned photographer Nick Hudson and stylist and Sass and Bide designer Pip Edwards. Showcasing a brooding pallet of raw talent the creative brief was literally open to interpretation as is always the best-case scenario for optimum results in the artistic field. Nick Hudson and Pip Edwards storyboard (pictured above) reads something of a 1980’s American tale with a classic blonde working in and around a vintage Ford Ranger wearing a one-piece, star printed swimsuit and distressed denim jacket.
